This work "standing firm" is a collage of fine chinese papers that I have colored in blue, beige, black and gray tones, as well as with dissolved coffee. I glued the papers on top of each other in layers, because this creates an incredible depth to the image, even with the lighter tones. The title of the painting “Stand firm” refers to the three black steles, which are literally surrounded by the light areas, as well as the gray and blue tones The painting is framed in a white wooden frame.
