“Campsite” compiles memories of camping into the essence of the concept as understood by the artist. The components of making camp on a crowded beach occupy the painting - beach towels, tents, folding chairs, warm sand and frigid, turbulent waves. Likewise, the above items seem at home in the blue Alpine mountains with their moss-covered rocks and forested slopes. The artist recalls, “As a boy, my family spent two months of every summer living at the shore. As I got older, hiking and camping became my favorite escape. The act of making camp has always been a cherished activity. I love to find a beautiful place, stop and take it in.”
