About the new art orginizations

This open day is a joint initiative of:

Frock Gallery in Rijselstraat 26 has the ambition to make contemporary art truly accessible to the general public and to bring promising contemporary artists into contact with their public. The key phrase of the gallery is 'It's the people that make the magic'. This forms the backbone of the construction of the gallery, the events, the exhibitions and the communication. In addition to surprising exhibitions of contemporary art, Frock Gallery also integrates an art shop into the gallery. A real store, where the local community, day trippers and city tourists can go for a highly original and artistic gift. The 'Frock Gallery' initiative comes from American artist Matthew J. Frock and his wife and entrepreneur Annelies Deltour.

Reichmanns brings together artist, art and art lover. Located at 27B Rijselstraat, Reichmanns presents a unique collection of artworks by contemporary artists. A platform for artists of all levels - international, national, local, emerging and established. Solo projects or unique collaborations. The gallery brings imagination and positivity with a wide range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures and three-dimensional works. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity. The goal is to provide a fresh perspective on contemporary art from a broad spectrum of artists and exhibitions.

Arts house 'Satelliet.K' is an initiative of the city of Ypres. It will be the place where visual artists from Ypres and surroundings can create and meet. For this purpose the city of Ypres renovated the Belle-Godshuis and the neighboring building Rijselstraat 40 in Ypres. The art house includes 10 studios that artists can rent, a multipurpose room, an exhibition area and a studio for artists in residence. The studios will be rented from July onwards. Artists can apply at

R121, a project with a passion for art - supported by people with the same objective - wants to (co-) introduce, stimulate and facilitate the making and experiencing of art in all its forms of expression. In a house located at Rue de Lille 121, R121 provides (exhibition) infrastructure and organizes exhibitions and artistic events. The initiators are the artist Filip De Cock and his partner Bea Van Imschoot who, based on her professional past, will provide a social-educational touch.

R121 is currently still undergoing renovation but will open its doors on 21 May for a first taste of art on the work floor. The official opening and start-up is anticipated in the fall of 2022. Questions and info:
