Ready for vacation

Copper, iron, titanium oxide and acrylic binder on wood in white metal frame.

130 x 80 cm, 2022

Katja Gramann, says: The work of art “Ready for vacation” is a classic mixed technique made of ash, rock flour, charcoal and pigments on a wooden body. The wooden body was built especially for me. It is an informal work, which means that the material used and the unclassified forms are in the foreground and determine the pictorial impact. The title of the work refers to the colourfulness in the work of art, because the turquoise and sand-colored tones in combination with white remind me of the sea, the Caribbean and islands, i.e. some place of longing. And that’s where almost everyone wants to go. The title refers to it with a wink. The painting is framed in a narrow white metal frame, which has a blacksmith close to munich especially made for me.
